He was equally as successful as Indiana Jones in the lucrative franchise. Ford earned his bachelor’s in philosophy from Ripon College in Wisconsin.

4. Bruce Lee Bruce Lee is known for bringing martial arts to American cinema. He made a name for himself as an actor and martial artist, especially for not following the traditions held by martial arts. Lee received his bachelor’s in philosophy from the University of Washington. The philosophy of martial arts is similar to stoicism in traditional philosophy, both value self-control and self-sacrifice.

Alex Trebek attended University of Ottawa for his Bachelor’s in philosophy. While he originally pursued a career in journalism, Trebek found his place as a game show host. He was been with “Jeopardy” for 35 years. Being a contestant on “Jeopardy” itself requires some philosophy. Philosophy teaches you how to think and that will benefit contestants in the vast array subjects that they will be tested on.
2. Ricky Gervais Infamous comedian Ricky Gervais is known for his crude jokes and offensive humor. He majored in philosophy at the University College London. There is a clear philosophical influence in his stand-up routines. Specifically, his routine “Animals” has a segment where he critiques the bible starting with Genesis and interrupting along the way, mocking the holy scriptures.

1. Lana Del Rey The singer known for her album “Born to Die,” the fifth global best-selling album of 2012, is a philosophy major. Lana Del Rey earned her bachelor’s in philosophy with a concentration in metaphysics from Fordham University in New York. She said she chose the major because she was “interested in God and how technology brings us closer to finding out where we came from and why.”
