In 2021, I read a total of 94 books, amounting to 34,431 pages. Of these 94 books, 46 of them we’re thriller/ horror books. That is not a surprising statistic, as this is my favorite genre.

I have also been trying to get through Stephen King’s seemingly never-ending list of books. I read 12 Stephen King books last year, including one of his longest novels, It.

Seven of the 94 books I read were classics. It was one of my goals in 2021 to read more classics, while I did not set a specific number for myself, I wish I would’ve made it to 10 classics. Another goal I had set for myself was to read more philosophy books, and in 2021 I read five philosophy books.

For 2022, I have been more specific with the reading goals I have set. Overall, I would like to read 100 books, which I think is entirely possible since that would be almost 2 books a week. I am setting a goal for myself to read five classics. Some classics/ modern classics I would like to get to are To Kill a Mockingbird, Catch-22 and Catcher in the Rye.

Additionally, I want to read another 12 Stephen King books, including the Bill Hodges Trilogy, Christine and Dolores Claiborne.

As for nonfiction books, I would like to read five art biographies and five philosophy books in 2022. To complete these goals, I have Zen and the Art of Motorcycle Maintenance and The Philosophy of Andy Warhol on my to-be-read list, amongst others

While I have a separate list of financial goals for 2022, a main goal of mine is to spend less money on books by taking advantage of the library and purchasing eBooks instead of physical copies.
